University Grants Commission (UGC), India. Vineet Joshi has been appointed interim chairperson at UGC in New Delhi. Vineet, who is currently the secretary of the department of higher education, will hold the role of chairman until a permanent appointment is made. Prior to his current role in the Ministry of Education, Vineet served as the chief secretary to the Manipur Government after leading India’s National Testing Agency (NTA) and serving as the chairman of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). An alumnus of IIT Kanpur, Vineet holds a BTech in mechanical engineering and an MBA in international business from the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT).
