Professor Vincent Emery has been appointed President of the University of Hertfordshire’s campus in Egypt; University of Hertfordshire hosted by Global Academic Foundation. “The vision of the University of Hertfordshire in Egypt is to transform lives and allow our students and staff to contribute to the world of tomorrow,” he said on his appointment. Vincent has a strong background in leadership, focused on the internationalisation of Higher Education. His previous positions were with The University of Surrey, where he was Senior Vice President (Global), and as Pro-Provost for Africa and the Middle East at UCL. He received his first degree in Biochemistry from the University of Southampton, this paved the way for a prolific research career focusing on viral infections, for which he has over 16,600 citations. In 2000 Vincent received his Chair in Virology at UCL in 2000, and he is also a Fellow of the Royal Society of Biology and the American Society of Transplantation.
