University of East London, UK. Verity Brown has joined UEL’s executive board. Officially beginning her tenure as pro vice-chancellor for impact and innovation on March 11, she will work to increase the economic, social and cultural impact of the university’s research, enterprise and community engagement activities. Previously Verity was a professor of behavioural neuroscience at  the University of St Andrews. From 2014-2016, Professor Brown was vice principal (enterprise and engagement) at St Andrews, where her work included leading the university’s enterprise strategy and guiding strategic development of externally-facing assets of the St Andrews’ estate. Verity looks forward to adding value to UEL’s local communities and “continuously striving to reach beyond the expected”.
