University of Sydney, Australia. Thorsten Wilhelm has started a new role at the University of Sydney where he will be responsible for leafing faculty efforts in identifying new engagement opportunities, in the realm of business and development. The move comes after a stint at Western Sydney University where he looked after the development of its international development and global strategy in a bid to strengthen its brand recognition on international terrain Thorsten is looking forward to building on existing relationships with industry and other non-government organisations, including identifying opportunities for commercialisation of university-generated intellectual property and identifying and coordinating opportunities for University-wide cross-faculty collaboration. With over sixteen years of experience in the international education sector through his previous work with TAFE NSW, the University of New South Wales and other organisations, Thorsten is looking forward to this new challenge: “With Sydney University having established itself firmly on the forefront of world class tertiary education and research providers, I look forward to contributing to the critical role USYD is playing in securing Australia’s social and economic future in a sustainable and commercially viable manner.”
