Kaplan International Pathways, Global. Thomas Opio has joined Kaplan International Pathways as head of US student recruitment for Latin America and Africa. A veteran in international education for 15 years, Thomas joins Kaplan from the University of Arizona where he was the program director for Africa initiatives and engagement at Study Arizona. Thomas also has extensive experience in collaborating with MENA institutions and embassies having spent a period of time at Zayed University, UAE. Thomas is a keen athlete, and has worked closely with the American National Collegiate Athletic Association to support international student athletes with recruitment, developing information sessions and inclusivity manuals as well as helping students gain athletics scholarships. Of his new role, Thomas said: “I’m excited about what we can achieve in LATAM and Africa as Kaplan increases investment in talent and activities in the region.”
