Breda University of Applied Sciences, The Netherlands. After 10 years of working in Malaysia, Professor Perry Hobson is moving on from being the PVC for Global Engagement at Sunway University and becoming the Director of the Academy of Tourism in Breda. BUas probably has Europe’s largest number of hospitality, tourism and leisure enrolments in its undergraduate and postgraduate programs, with some 4,500+ students out of 7,000 in the university. In his new role, he will also be contributing to the further development of the BUas global engagement strategy. Perry has a significant reputation in the field of leadership in tourism and internationalisation with roles at Sunway University (Malaysia), and Taylor’s University (School of Hospitality and Tourism Management). From 2006 to 2011 he was Chief Executive Officer at the International Centre of Excellence in Tourism and Hospitality Education, after having held other academic positions such as at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
