Paul Inman has been appointed as Pro-Vice-Chancellor (International) for the University of Reading. Paul will lead the university’s global engagement, international profile and reputation, and be responsible for developing and implementing a strategic approach to the successful recruitment of international students and expansion of Reading’s global connections. Paul joins from Oxford Brookes University, where he waas Pro-Vice-Chancellor (International Recruitment) and Dean of the Faculty of Technology, Design and Environment. “These are challenging times for the higher education sector, but I have always relished a challenge,” Paul said. He was the leading architect of Oxford Brookes Global, which introduced a more defined focus on student recruitment, global partnerships and transnational education. The efforts led to a 30% increase in new international enrolments in 2019/20 and a 100% increase in international postgraduate student applications for 2020/21.
