ETS, Global. ETS has appointed Karan Lalit as executive director for India and South Asia, overseeing TOEFL and GRE operations in the region. Karan brings experience in international education, having previously held leadership roles at Study Group and Shorelight, where he worked across North America and South Asia markets. In his new role, he will focus on expanding institutional partnerships and strengthening engagement with test-takers as demand for global assessments continues to grow. “South Asia is a high-growth, high-potential market for international education, with increasing demand for trusted, globally recognised assessments,” Karan said. “My focus will be on strengthening our institutional partnerships, expanding student access, and building a more responsive and scalable ecosystem for our world-leading assessments, TOEFL and GRE.” The appointments come as ETS looks to further scale its presence in South Asia following the recent update to the TOEFL iBT, and amid changes in global mobility including a stronger focus on employability outcomes.
