GERSA, Global. Glynne Stanfield has been appointed general counsel designate at GERSA, the Global Education Recruitment Standards Authority, a newly formed not-for-profit committed to raising ethical and compliance standards in international student recruitment. A former partner, current consultant and head of international education at Eversheds Sutherland, Glynne brings over three decades of legal expertise in the global education sector, including being a lead lawyer in the setting up of the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA), the Office of the Independent Adjudicator (OIA), and major research institutions such as the Crick and Alan Turing Institutes. At GERSA, he will lead the development of the organisation’s legal infrastructure, compliance frameworks, and accreditation protocols, helping position the body for Royal Charter status and global recognition. “What excites me is the chance to build something from the inside that has real, long-term impact,” said Glynne. “GERSA has the potential to bring about a step change – not just for institutions, but for students worldwide.” He is currently focused on structuring GERSA’s legal framework, business planning, and governance model ahead of its formal launch later in 2025.
