Oxford University Press, UK. Oxford University Press (OUP) has welcomed Professor Tony Green as their new director of research for English Assessment. Tony joins from the University of Bedfordshire, where he led the Centre for Research in English Language Learning and Assessment (CRELLA). Under his direction, CRELLA ranked 3rd nationally in the UK’s Research Excellence Framework, earning a perfect score for research environment and impact. A globally recognised expert in language assessment, Tony has advised organisations including the UN, NATO, and the British Council, and served as president of the International Language Testing Association. He is a Fellow of the UK Academy of Social Sciences and has authored five monographs and numerous influential publications.

Tony has secured over £2 million in research funding and supervised 16 doctoral projects. His appointment marks a significant step in OUP’s commitment to advancing English language education.
