University of Sunderland, UK. Dr Elizabeth Hidson has been appointed program leader of the International Education MA at the University of Sunderland. Elizabeth brings seven years’ experience in the international initial teacher training sector, having first joined the university’s flagship IITT provision in 2018, building on her post-doctoral research in the field. In her new role, Elizabeth will lead the MA in International Education program, drawing on her extensive background in practitioner research and international teacher training. Elizabeth’s expertise spans international teacher education, educational technology, and digital pedagogies. She has worked across more than 60 countries through the university’s distance learning programs. Prior to entering higher education, Elizabeth spent 14 years in London schools, holding senior leadership roles up to deputy headteacher. Upon starting her new position, she said: “This role allows me to combine my deep commitment to practitioner research with supporting educators working in diverse international contexts. The program offers a unique opportunity for in-service teachers globally to engage in meaningful learning that transforms their practice whilst contributing to the wider field of international education.”
