Swinburne University, Australia. Douglas Proctor will commence as the new Pro Vice-Chancellor (Global Engagement) at Swinburne University from August 2021. Douglas will provide leadership across the university with responsibility for global engagement and the development and deployment of Swinburne’s internationalisation strategy. Douglas comes to Swinburne from University College Dublin in Ireland, where he has been Director of UCD Global for close to five years. Douglas will provide leadership across the university with responsibility for global engagement and the development and deployment of Swinburne’s internationalisation strategy to support Swinburne’s global ambitions, recently outlined in its Horizon 2025 strategy. He holds a PhD in International Higher Education, which he completed following a series of director and associate director roles at the University of Melbourne and Deakin University. A Senior Fellow of the International Education Association of Australia, Douglas is a frequent speaker – and has published widely – on topics related to global engagement and international education.
