Oxford International Education Group, Global. Oxford International Education Group has appointed David Pilsbury as Chief Development Officer to lead the group’s higher education growth and development strategy. Until recently David was Deputy Vice Chancellor, International, at Coventry University, where he was responsible for a 6-fold increase in overseas student recruitment, establishing the UK’s largest overseas collaborative delivery programme with over 20,000 students in almost 30 countries, and creating the world’s largest global enhancement programme, including making Coventry No.1 for outbound mobility for 5 years running. He holds a number of Board level and advisory positions including with JISC, China Britain Business Council, Times Higher Education Student, StudyPortals and the Hainan Provincial Government. He recently stepped down as Co-chair of the UUK International Pro-Vice Chancellors Group following a successful tenure steering new approaches to the future of Global Engagement. Following a D.Phil and postdoctoral research at Oxford University, David spent a number of years in strategic consultancy and investment banking before moving into HE at HEFCE and then became CEO of the Worldwide Universities Network.
