Towson University, US. Christopher Powers has been appointed by Towson University in Maryland as its new assistant VP for international initiatives. As a senior executive with expertise in international education, language programming, and association, higher education, and not-for-profit management, Christopher more than twenty-five years’ experience leading global, national, and local initiatives. He is experienced in all aspects of executive leadership, including strategic planning, management, budgeting and finance, sales and marketing, benchmarking and evaluation, and staff development and supervision. He previously served as VP for exchange programs at AMIDEAST, and also spent three years as executive director and CEO of the TESOL International Association. He also had a job at IIE as director of education abroad programs. On LinkedIn, Christopher said he was “happy to share” the news of his move, and started in July.
