Arizona State University, US. Chris Johnson has started a new position as senior director and head of global partnership development at ASU. Chris is an award-winning leader in international education with expertise in strategic visioning and execution. In his new role, he advances the university’s global goals, strengthens partnerships, and fosters new collaborations. Since beginning his career in 1999, Chris has worked in study abroad, international student services and admissions. He has held leadership roles with NAFSA and served as a dean, assistant dean, and director at various institutions. With degrees in economics and public administration, Chris conducted doctoral research in African politics, including fieldwork in Tanzania, and is currently pursuing an EdD at ASU. His international experience spans living in 10 countries, including Kuwait, Indonesia, and Kenya, and traveling to 79 more. Chris’s global perspective and collaborative approach drive his work to enhance programs, build relationships, and achieve impactful outcomes in international education.
