University of Glasgow, UK. Ben Matthews has joined the University of Glasgow as director of global partnerships and networks where, working with senior colleagues, he will provide strategic leadership of the university’s international ambition, with a particular focus on the institution’s transnational education (TNE) and international networks strategies. Previously, Ben held a leadership role at Lancaster University, where he focused on developing TNE across partner campuses in Asia, Europe, and Africa. Through these campuses, one-third of all students studied via TNE. As a former students’ union deputy chief executive, Ben combines commercial acumen with a people-focused approach – aiming to place students at the forefront of internationalisation. Ben said: “Glasgow’s values and vision to be a world-changing university, align closely with my belief that global collaborations can enable positive impacts and change within teaching and research. I’m delighted to join the team!”
