Kaplan International, Global. Anna May has joined Kaplan International as executive head of grief programs, working to soften the impact of bereavement for students and staff in higher education. In her role, she’ll be continuing to grow The Student Grief Network, an initiative that she founded in 2020, after dealing with loss as a student herself. Experiencing first-hand how lonely and overwhelming this could be, and how little support there was out there, Anna wanted to build something relatable, empowering, and genuinely helpful. The Student Grief Network has now worked with students and staff from over ten universities and student unions across the UK by delivering training, consultancy, workshops and talks. Anna said: “I’m excited to join Kaplan International and contribute to their sector-leading well-being and pastoral care initiatives for students. We know how difficult it can be to go through grief at university, but we also believe that we can work towards a healthier culture, building confidence in having difficult conversations and creating sustainable and effective support systems.”
