The Australian National University, Australia. One of Australia’s most respected and experienced higher education policy thinkers, researchers and commentators, Andrew Norton, has taken up a new role at The Australian National University. Andrew has been appointed as professor in the Practice of Higher Education at the ANU Centre for Social Research and Methods. Working in higher education policy since 1997 when he began his career as an adviser to then education minister David Kemp, he is recognised as one of the nation’s leading voices in the sector. Prior to joining ANU, he was Higher Education Program director at the Grattan Institute. Before that he worked at the Centre for Independent Studies, and advised three vice-chancellors at the University of Melbourne. Andrew was also a member of the 2013-14 Federal Government review of the demand driven system for higher education funding and of the 2016-17 expert panel advising on higher education reform.
