Hawaiʻi Pacific University (HPU), US. Alan Shoho has been appointed HPU’s new provost and senior vice president. Bringing over three decades of experience to the role, Alan will help guide HPU’s academic vision and advance its mission to serve a student body of nearly 8,000 drawn from across the US, US Territories, and more than 40 countries. He moves to HPU from New Mexico State University, where he recently served as provost and chief academic officer. Previously, Alan was dean of the School of Education at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee, and prior to that spent 21 years at the University of Texas at San Antonio. For Alan, who left the islands 40 years ago, his new role is as much a homecoming as it is a professional milestone. He said: “Returning to Hawaiʻi is deeply meaningful to me, and I am committed to helping HPU strengthen its impact across the islands.”
