Verto Education, US. Ahmad Refky is the Associate Vice President of Operations at Verto Education. He has been active in the International Education field for 15 years, working in organisations such as The Rotary Foundation, Greenheart Exchange, and IES Abroad. Prior to joining Verto Education, Ahmad oversaw International Operations at CEA Study Abroad, providing leadership to a globally dispersed staff, leading the implementation of study abroad programs, risk management, and student health & safety. Originally from Egypt, Ahmad’s first came to the US as a high school exchange student, which sparked his love for international education. He returned to the US in 2001, escaping Egypt’s persecution of LGBTQ communities. He is a passionate advocate for access, inclusion, diversity and equity, and recognises that the field has a lot of work to do to make study abroad inclusive to all participants.
