Indian, Emirati and international educators will go head to head at major education fair this month in UAE, in a bid to tap the large expatriate Indian community living in the Gulf. The region’s International Education Show is for the first time incorporating the The Great India Education Fair, whose organisers claim it as “the largest gathering of Indian educational institutions under a single roof”.

65 top Indian boarding schools, colleges, universities and other educational institutions from India will attend, along with 100 regional and international institutions.
“Together, the International Education Show (IES) and the Great India Education Fair (TGIEF) will attract the whole Indian population looking at options for higher studies,” said Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, director-general of the Expo Centre Sharjah where the event will be held.
“While IES will offer them options within the Gulf and across the world, TGIEF will open up the entire Indian education system for those who are interested in higher studies there.”
The expatriate Indian population in the Gulf stands at nearly six million, and a large proportion of students choose to complete their secondary and higher education in India. However, at the event providers from Malaysia, Oman, Jordan, the US, the UK and UAE will also be targeting this market along with Emirati students.
The event also incorporates the National Career Exhibition, enabling graduates seeking career advice to investigate their education options as well. The event runs in Sharjah, February 20 to 22.
