AMBA Excellence Awards, London, UK

AMBA and BGA held their annual Excellence Awards for the post-graduate business school sector in central London on February 7. More than 200 business school leaders representing 46 schools attended.

Quality English Brazil workshop, 2020

Quality English hosted a successful Brazil agent workshop with 20 local agents in February. Including both BELTA and Quality English accredited agents, attendees had the opportunity to meet with the 16 Quality English Schools and Quality Education Colleges who travelled to Sao Paolo.

English UK Marketing Conference 2020

English UK held its 2020 Marketing Conference at Hilton London Tower Bridge in February. The conference was aimed at all professionals promoting, marketing and selling English language courses to study abroad agents and international students. Delegates also listened to inspirational speakers at the event including former Time out magazine editor Tim Arthur and Olympian Anna Hemmings.

Academix Agents Training & Workshop

Turkish agency Academix held its Agents Training & Workshop 2020 in Istanbul in January. Hosted at Point Hotel Taksim, 43 representatives from 32 valued school partners attended the workshop. More than 75 Academix members from its 16 branches in Turkey, Iran and Azerbaijan joined for one-on-one meetings with the schools.

IH Academic Managers and Trainers conference

In January 2020, International House World Organisation held its annual Academic Managers and Trainers Conference in Greenwich, London. The event featured a varied program with external speakers such as educational consultant Maureen McGarvey, Lindsay Clandfield, writer Kieran Donaghy and Rachael Roberts.

BSB 50th anniversary, Brussels

The British School of Brussels in Tervuren is celebrating 50 years in education throughout 2020. During the year BSB is organising events including a memorabilia exhibition, an alumni reunion, a Summer Concert and a special Awards Ceremony. The year of celebrations began with an assembly, where Upper Primary children performed a song they had penned about the school.

FLE Groupment, Nice, France

The FLE Groupement, representative organisation for 35 French language schools in France, gets together once a year to offer professional training to managers from across France. In 2020 La Journée Professionnelle Groupement FLE took place at Le Sait-Paul Hotel in sunny Nice.

Bett Show 2020, London

The annual Bett returned to London to showcase the latest innovations in edtech. Held at ExCeL London between January 22-25, the show brought together 850 leading companies, 103 exciting new edtech start ups and more than 34,700 attendees from 131 countries.

BAU Global UK 3rd Alumni Reunion

BAU Global held its third UK alumni reunion in London during January. More than 150 alumni gathered at MLA College to establish a “corporate vision” within graduates of BAU Global’s network of four language schools, eight universities, 16 liaison offices and 300 schools.

International School Awards 2020, London

ISC Research announced winners of the International School Awards 2020 at a dazzling event in London on January 20. More than 225 senior figures from international schools and education organisations from across the world attended, with St Andrews International School Bangkok (Primary School), Thailand being crowned International School of the Year 2020.

English UK conference 2020, London

More than 300 delegates attended English UK’s two-day ELT conference in January. Focusing on the needs of teachers and managers, sessions at the event in London included how to meet professional aspirations, language teaching in the age of the multilingual turn, and recognising, avoiding and dealing with burnout in ELT professionals. The Education World Forum was held from January 19-22 at the Queen Elizabeth II Centre in London, UK. It was attended by delegates from over ninety countries – representing two thirds of the global population – interested in discussing and debating the future of education.
