The English UK Annual Conference is one of the highlights of the English UK calendar, giving our members the chance meet, help shape the association and receive key updates on strategy, statistics and wider trends in UK ELT.

Statistics and strategy

Data experts from our insight partner Bonard (formerly StudentMarketing) will guide delegates through this year’s English UK student statistics report. They will explore emerging market trends; source market performance; and developments in the global ELT sector, with a specific focus on the implications for the UK as a study destination.

Chief Executive Sarah Cooper will then look back at the association’s work in 2018 and forward to the association’s strategic direction for the coming years.

Round table discussions and AGM

We will then dive into deeper discussions around specific subjects, from accredition to corporate social responsibility, in our round table session. This is a chance to explore problems and opportunities, share successes and work together on solutions to common challenges.

Then, during the annual general meeting, members (English UK educator member centres only) will review the annual report, vote on association matters and meet their newly elected board representatives. see board candidates + (requires login)

Opportunities post-Brexit

Our expert panel will discuss opportunities and answer questions to help you make the most of a post-Brexit future. It is also your chance to tell us what you think about the immigration proposals in the Government’s White Paper. We will be using interactive software so everyone can take part. read more +

An explorer’s tale

Explorer, author and filmmaker Benedict Allen will tap into our collective love of travel with an entertaining and uplifting closing plenary. Benedict has ventured into some of the world’s most remote areas, documenting his travels, facing adversity but always rising to the challenge.
