Data is painting a picture of rampant demand in Hong Kong for English medium education, with new international school expansions unlikely to keep up with booming demand in the former British territory. ISC data shows that the number of international schools has shot up from 92 to 171 in the last 14 years.

More than 80% of 14,000 prospective UK-bound international students surveyed said they choose their study destination based on the quality of the education on offer over factors such as job opportunities in the destination country, or even which country they preferred, a new survey reveals.

Almost a third of the world's international school students study in the Middle East, research has shown. The region is home to 1,213 of the world's 7,016 English-medium international schools, teaching over 1 million students.
