St Giles International has announced that St Giles New York City will close on July 31, citing the Covid-19 lockdown and travel restrictions as factors.

St Giles is set to launch an English language course with a new format which aims to transform students "from tourists to locals."

English language school group, St Giles International, celebrated its 60th anniversary and prestigious Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade with a gala dinner this week.

Two companies in the UK's international education sector have been listed in a ranking of the top 200 UK private companies that are seeing the fastest growth in overseas sales within a two-year period. St Giles, in 77th position, is a well known English language teaching operator and Cognita Schools runs 64 high schools in seven countries.

A study has shown UK independent English language schools outperform proprietary chain schools based on scores ranked against national averages from the British Council-endorsed accreditation rankings. It also revealed that experience can lead to excellence, with most top-ranked ELT players over 20 years old.
