The NHS Surcharge and working hour cap for international students should be scrapped, the UK's National Union of Students has said.

Stakeholders are accusing the government of treating international students to the UK as “cash cows” amid lofty health surcharge and visa fee increases. 

A group of Chinese graduates who studied in the UK have made personal donations of almost £40K to purchase two ventilators for the UK's NHS.

A new language training course, available to NHS trusts and on request, is being launched to equip doctors from overseas with the practical English communication skills they need in a hospital environment.

Overseas students who enrol on short-term courses in the UK will have to pay for NHS services including emergency treatment the Department of Health recently announced. Students on courses longer than six months will be exempt from the additional fees, but will instead pay a £150 annual health levy as part of their student visa, entitling them to use NHS services as residents.
