“Our partnership with Study Group will help us increase the intake of high-quality students”

Currently one in ten of the University of Strathclyde’s students are from outside of the UK, amounting to 1,900 each year. However, with increasing global competition and changes to UK immigration policy, the university is finding recruitment “increasingly challenging”.

Principal Professor Sir Jim McDonald said: “We already successfully recruit more than a thousand international students every year. Our partnership with Study Group will help us increase the intake of high-quality students and allow us to further improve the international experience of our home and overseas students.”

Established in 1796, the University of Strathclyde is Scotland’s third largest university, with nearly 16,000 students. The International Study Centre will be based in the newly refurbished Graham Hills building at the university’s Glasgow city centre campus.

Founded in 1994, Study Group runs pathways, pre-university and English language courses worldwide, catering to 60,000 students.
