PTE Academic has opened a number of test centres this year as it looks to expand its global presence and it has already launched key centres in Nigeria, Turkey and India

Students takings the PTE Academic tests can now book as little as 24 hours in advance and receive their results within five business days, enabling them to apply for visas quickly.

PTE Academic has opened a number of test centres this year as it looks to expand its global presence and it has already launched key centres in Nigeria, Turkey and India.

A spokesperson told The PIE News that while they can’t indicate test volumes, they believe there is a “strong demand in Dublin for a fast, relevant and widely-accepted test of English,” and confirmed that the company’s biggest competitor in the Irish market is the IELTS examination.

“We are also looking to strengthen our presence in Brazil, with demand rising since we have been accepted by Science Without Borders”

Paul Corbett, Examinations Manager at CES said he had no doubt the exam will be successful in the new market. “PTE offers test candidates an excellent opportunity to take a secure and highly recognised exam which can offer flexible test times and fast results,” he added.

In light of the recent exam fraud that rocked the UK and resulted in ETS exams being removed from the list of approved Secure English Language Testing providers, the company is confident in its security system.

“We are aware that criminals target secure English test providers to try to circumvent immigration laws,” said the spokesperson.

“Pearson employs a layered approach to security, achieved through innovative test design and delivery, advanced identity management, secure proctored delivery, automatic results validation and data forensics.”

With test centres in over 150 locations around the world already the company plans to continue expanding.

We are looking to strengthen our presence in Brazil especially, with demand rising since we have been accepted by Science Without Borders,” added a spokesperson.

PTE Academic was also recently added to the list of approved providers for Australia’s temporary Graduate, Skilled, Work and Holiday, and Former Resident visa applicants.
