IHWO has added three new locations to its global network bringing its membership total up to 156 schools. Formerly part of inlingua, IH Manchester will be the organisation’s 9th location in the UK. It has been accredited by the British Council and part of English UK since 2009.

“We are now delighted to announce that having undergone the rigorous application process and pre-affiliation inspection our Manchester school has been accepted in to IHWO,” said IH Manchester Directors Peter Hayes and Michael Brennan. “We feel that IHWO’s commitment to quality and innovation in teaching perfectly fits our own values.”

Other new recruits include IH Zurich-Baden which has been focusing on adult and company  programmes in a number of languages including German, English and Japanese since 1988. And, previously a part of EF, IH Stavropol is the first IH school in southern Russia and the biggest private language school in the city.

Meanwhile, Studio Cambridge in the UK and Instituto de Idiomas Ibiza in Spain have joined IALC’s network of independent language schools teaching their native language to international students.

Founded in 1954, Studio Cambridge is a year-round language school in central Cambridge offering a portfolio of general and specialised English courses. Since 2008, Instituto de Idiomas Ibiza has been offering general and business Spanish in Ibiza Town.

IALC says the latest members reflect its strategic aim to give agents more choice. “After successful inspections, we are pleased to welcome one of England’s longest established independent language schools in the popular destination of Cambridge, together with a young, quality-focused Spanish language school in a new destination in Spain,” said Jan Capper, Executive Director.

Founded in 1953, the International House World Organisation (IHWO) has affiliated private language schools in 50 countries, spanning every continent.

IALC has been operating since 1983 as an association, run by members with a professional secretariat in Canterbury, UK. Membership benefits include accreditation, professional exchange and promotion under the IALC label.
