With fees starting at UK£12,000 per year, Only Student Concierge is not cheap, but Beattie Group, the company behind the new service, is confident that there will be a market for their bespoke concierge service that ensures students are secure and happy while away from home.
“Fees start at £12,000 per year and although that’s expensive for many students, some families will find it a small price to pay for the peace of mind of knowing that the student is being looked after and everything taken care of,” said Elspeth Jones of Beattie Communications.
Beattie Group also runs 11ten group, which has many years of experience in the sector as student recruitment specialists, which was the reason for the idea.
“Because we advise international students, we became aware of how difficult it is for them to settle in a foreign country,” Brown told The PIE News. “We set up Only Student Concierge to make life a little easier for [them] in the UK.”
Only Student Concierge will be reaching out to university admissions departments to promote its new service, and of course, getting in touch with 11ten group clients, who include Kaplan, Oxford University and Glasgow Caledonian University.
It expects that 90% of its clients will be international students in the UK.
Beattie Communications has previous experience of “minding” students. Andy Marriott, director of the concierge counselling team, explained that they managed the press and media around Prince William during his four years of study at the University of St Andrews.
As well as domestic chores; typical concierge services can include visa advice; finding and maintaining residential accommodation; booking travel; arranging internships; managing academic progress; and career counselling.
