The Hotcourses Primary School, which is located in Kitui Province in Kenya, was set up in 2005 and provides education to orphans who have been affected by HIV.

The foundation hopes that their education will enable them to attend university in the future, either in Kenya or abroad.

The £110,000 was raised at the Hotcourses Foundation’s annual fundraising dinner last week, which was held at the House of Commons in London.

The funds will support nearly all of the 700 orphans at the school for a whole year.

“Over the last ten years we have provided over £1m from Hotcourses to the Foundation,” said Mike Elms, trustee of the Hotcourses Foundation and CEO of Hotcourses, an international study search engine and virtual agency.

“And every pound goes directly to the school and the children’s education and is making a real difference to their lives.”

The school has been rated in the top 10 in the province, out of over 1,000 educational institutions.

The Hotcourses Foundation was set up in 2005 by UK Health Secretary, Jeremy Hunt, along with Hotcourses Ltd, to provide the educational services to the programmes of its sister charity, Nyumbani UK.

“It is wonderful to see the difference the Hotcourses Primary School has made over the last 10 years,” continued Elms.

“Last year I met a young man who is now going to Kenyatta University thanks to our support.”
