ELS operates more than 50 on-campus programmes in the US

The programme will be a route to postgraduate study at Hofstra for international students, adding to ELS’s existing stable of more than 50 onsite programmes in the US.

“Hofstra’s highly rated programmes should make Hofstra a magnet for highly qualified internationals”

The decision to open a centre at Hofstra came after ELS saw an increase in the number of its students matriculating to the university. The company said the new partnership will enable more students to acclimatise to life and study on the campus before beginning a degree programme.

Students enrolled on the course will complete an intensive programme of daily English language learning before beginning a postgraduate degree at Hofstra.

They will also gain skills to help them learn in a US education context, including research, participation and attribution of courses.

Last year, more than half of ELS alumni applied for postgraduate programmes, according to its president and CEO, Mark Harris.

“We are very excited about helping international students prepare for Hofstra University,” he commented.

“Hofstra’s highly rated programmes in Engineering, Computer Science, and Management, and the ACCSB accredited Frank G. Zarb School of Business MBA programme with offerings including Business Analytics, Information Systems, International Business and Strategic Healthcare Management should make Hofstra a magnet for highly qualified internationals.”

The centre will welcome its first cohort of students this month.
